Because Iowa Lakes is test-optional, use this plan only if you decide to submit scores: take your first SAT or ACT by spring of junior year, then save the summer before senior year and fall of senior year for retakes that could improve a superscore. Iowa Lakes does not list Early Decision or Early Action deadlines, so confirm the regular application cutoff before counting on a late fall retake, and do not use the April 1 financial aid priority deadline as your testing target unless a specific program asks for scores.
